Scope of usage:
BET Surface Area: The BET
calculation obtains the sample surface area value by determining themonolayer
volume of adsorbed gas from the isotherm data.
Langmuir Surface Area: The
Langmuir calculation determines the surface area of a sample by relating the
surface area to the volume of gas adsorbed as a monolayer.
Freundlich isotherm is an empirical isotherm that is used to model low-pressure
adsorption data. It can also be applied to model some micropore isotherms.
Temkin: The Temkin isotherm is used
to model adsorption data where the heat of adsorption drops linearly with
t- Plot: The t-Plot calculation
allows quantitative analysis of the area and total volume ascribed to
Alpha- S Method: The
Alpha-S plot converts the standard adsorption isotherm into a dimensionless
isotherm using the quantity adsorbed at a relative pressure.
f- Ratio Method: The
f-Ratio report allows you to take the measured isotherm and normalize it.
BJH Adsorption in
BJH Desorption: The BJH calculation determines the mesopore volume/area
distribution which accounts for both the change in adsorbate layer thickness
and the liquid condensed in pore cores.
Adsorption in Dollimore-Heal Desorption: The options for
Dollimore-Heal reports are the same as those for the BJH reports with the
exception of BJH Correction and Adsorptive properties; this item is not applicable
to DH reports.
Horvath-Kawazoe: Select the
option in this group box which best represents the physical geometry of the
micropores in the sample material.
DFT Pore Size in DFT Surface Energy: DFT models are based
on the density functional theory. Classical models are based on the Kelvin
equation and thickness for determining the pore size distribution.
Examples of application for polymer analysis / information that can be obtained by this method for polymers: Information on what is the surface of material, how large pores does the material have or how large is its porosity, distribution of pore size between 4 and 4000 Å.
Sample limitations: Material must to be dry and pulverized or in pieces large during 2 and 3 mm.
application conditions: No limitations, the device
works at normal conditions.
