CE PoliMaT and ABIA have signed a contract on innovation collaboration
Building a technology bridge
between Slovenia and the US in the field of biopolymer applications for health.
On April 2, 2013, Mateja Dermastia, MSc, CEO of CE PoliMaT,
and dr. Frank Douglas,
President and CEO of Austen BioInnovation Institute in Akron (ABIA), have signed a contract on innovation collaboration between the two
institutions at Bled, Slovenia. The collaboration is entitled APIC program (ABIA – CE PoliMaT Innovation collaboration program). This
occasion represents an important step in formalizing the collaboration, which
began in November last year with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding
in Akron, Ohio.
The innovation collaboration aims at supporting innovation
projects with a clear objective of developing advanced applications in health
by addressing the market needs. APIC Program is based on combining competencies of
both partners, namely the expertise in biopolymers on the side of CE PoliMaT
and expertise in value driven engineering in health from the side of ABIA.
