Dr. Sujata K. Bhatia from Harvard University gave a lecture at iHouse@MIT on biopolymers for medical applications
Dr. Sujata K. Bhatia from Harvard University, and member of the Global Biopolymer Network, lectured at iHouse@MIT, the Massachussetts Institute of Technology's only living-learning group, focused on international development and the celebration of diversity in all of its forms.
Dr. Bhatia explaining how her biomedical engineering work encourages the use of biopolymers made from natural (agricultural) materials for medical applications. The rationale is that natural polymers and substances react best with natural people! Developing nations are filled with the agricultural potential to be powerhouses for high-end medicine projection. This inspired Dr. Sujata and others at Harvard and the Global Biopolymer Network, who are now offering Biopolymer Workshops targeted towards the brightest minds in developing countries to realize the potential of natural agricultural products in medicine.
